Summer's Last Hurrah!

Last weekend was Labor Day Weekend, what I like to call Summer's Last Hurrah! It's everybody's last chance do celebrate summer. Jacob and I had a great weekend! We spent Friday night with our friends Nate and Elise. We had dinner in Hatch at this place called Sparky's. You should check out the Taylor's post, it's lovely. After dinner we headed to the Aggie volleyball game, we just caught the last game, but it was still fun! Saturday Jacob and I did a few errands around town and then in the afternoon we bought a truck! It's a 2005 Dodge Dakota and we love it! Jacob drove an '86 Dakota when started dating, and I loved that old thing. It died a few months ago and Jacob has been riding bike ever since. His bike broke a couple of weeks ago, so he started walking to campus, and I decided it was time to get a second vehicle. He'd need one in December anyway when he graduates. Saturday night we met some of Jacob's friends at a tailgate and then headed to the football game. The newlywed Kohler's came and sat with us. I hate to see us lose, so we left during the 3rd quarter, because we did lose 21-6. Then on Sunday we went to church and spent the day napping and eating mac n cheese. We got up early on Monday, did some chores around the house packed a lunch, threw Ribeye in the back of the truck and headed to the mountains. It was nice to get away. Everybody was heading home from the weekend. We were told to try the Rim Trail, so we headed out and to our demise discovered it was a 14 mile hike! W only made it about 3 before turning around. It was getting dark and my feet were hurting, and Jacob had twisted his ankle, and Ribeye was pooped. We made it out just in time, about 30 seconds after getting in the truck it started to pour. Ribeye was so tired he slept all the way home in the back seat, and didn't make a sound. He slept the rest of the night. When we got back into town we headed over to Steven and Anita's for pizza and to spend some quality time with my nieces. They are so cute and are getting so big! Over all it was a great weekend!
